A True Mentor With a Servant's Heart
knowledge has been done by mentoring from parents, grand
parents, teachers, leaders, coaches, coworkers and friends.
The word goes back to Homer's Odyssey a
story which tells how before leaving on his long journey,
Odysseus asked a close friend to watch over and guide
his son. That friend's name was Mentor.
Some observations from the book by Marc Freedman,
"The kindness of strangers":
The 7 habits of highly effective mentors
1. Listening:
It is the only way mentors can understand what people
are up against and where opportunities for developing
the relationship can be discovered.
2. Building a relationship:
In the hurry to make a difference, mentors can forget to
take time to build a relationship and establish a firm
connection. this means carefully cultivating trust..It
means being patient. Many people will test mentors
to see if they are for real.
3. Respecting boundaries:
When mentors ask people personal questions before
a solid relationship has been established, the most
common response is silence. People will clam up.
Mentors who do not respect their mentees' needs
for privacy are often quick to alienate them.
4. Being sensitive to differences:
It is necessary to realize that mentors and those
they work with come from different worlds, a reality
even for mentors who have grown up disadvantaged.
This means being aware of the embarrassment a
person might feel about being poor.
5. Providing support and challenges:
Successful mentors are consistently there for people,
delivering a sustained message 'You are important"
when problems arise, effective mentors resist telling
people what to do and instead work with them to
address the problems. These mentors are eventually
able to strike a balance between supporting and
challenging both nurturing people and pushing them
toward their goals.
6. Acknowledging reciprocity:
While mentors often have to provide the initiative
early in the relationship as trust is being established,
mentoring is a two-way street. Growth, benefits and
struggles are present on both sides, and mentors
who are able to convey they are there for mutual
exchange, not just solve problems stand the greatest
chance of making a solid connection.
7. Being realistic:
Few mentors turn lives around, but mentors who help
people move toward achievable goals can make a real
contribution. Often this means having thick skin,
tolerating unreturned phone calls, accepting the
cultural gaps that must be bridged. In the end, few
virtues in mentoring rival on growing commitment and
genuine caring.

From the Road with Bob & Anna Bassett
The Toronto Freedom Tour was a huge success! Sixty guests stayed for the second half - a 90% retention rate! Well done, Michael and Tom! Almost half came early for lunch, and several stayed for dinner too. The opportunity for guests and distributors to be able to sit at lunch or dinner and just talk with Michael and Tom was priceless!
Thanks to Michael and Tom and all the Ontario organizers - Judi Sheehan, Gary and Kim Cassidy, Yvonne Jones, Anne Jones, Terry Smith, Robin Willson, Bob and Anna Bassett. Michael and Tom were brilliant as usual. Michael got lots of laughs playing mindreader with the colors, and then a few frowns and jawdrops when he read excerpts from various companies' Policies and Procedures.
After the break, Tom demonstrated how to "unscrew the the tops of their heads and go directly to the subconscious." He must have done a good job of it, as most people are planning to return to see him again here on November 27. Many guests have been calling and emailing us this week, wanting to know how to get more training like this and more information about our company! This is a great business and Toronto is a wonderful place to be working it! Our guests originally came from Argentina, Israel, Uruguay, Russia, China, Trinidad, Iran, Jamaica, Poland, England, Scotland, France, Holland, United States, Ireland, Germany, Phillipines, Japan, India, Pakistan, Italy, Hungary, Portugal, etc., etc. United Nations at the Holiday Inn!
Just imagine having someone join you and take it back to a homeland where we are open. Toronto is the gateway to the world, and network marketing is the key to harmony, freedom and peace. Thanks a million, Michael and Tom! And thanks to all the hardworking Ontario reps who helped put this together and run smoothly. This tour has brought out the best in everyone! WHAT THE FREEDOM TOUR MEANS TO ME
"What are your two biggest struggles in your business?"
He writes down the answers and gives solutions to every problem throughout the evening.
The four personality colors are:
1. Yellow (phlegmatic) open & indirect - 35% of the population
2. Blue (sanguine) open & direct - 15% of the population
3. Green (melancholy) self-contained & indirect - 35% of the population
4. Red (caloric) self-contained & direct - 15% of the population
Michael proceeds to further explain the colors by telling several of the attendees what color personality they are & telling them some of their likes & dislikes. He is amazingly accurate!
Do you know what color you are?
Michael also covers the importance of finding a business with all 5 pillars. When a company has four pillars and is missing even one pillar, it cannot be truly successful.
Let me put it this way: Could you drive your car with one engine and only three tires? You would not get to your destination in a very timely manner, would you?
Would an apple pie be as tasty without apples, a crust, a pie plate, sugar & spices, and lard to keep it from sticking? All five items are necessary to make a truly amazing apple pie.
The five pillars that make a company successful are:
1. Management with Experience & Integrity
2. Timing in the Company & in the Industry
3. Remarkable Products that people will buy
4. Compensation Plan that pays the Distributor
5. Proven Duplicable System to create Royalty Income
Does your company have all 5 pillars?
After a short break, Michael will show you a 5 pillars company.
He will answer all your questions.

You may attend the Freedom Tour in a city near you. Check out the schedule and register to go for F*r*e*e. Put in Debbie Engler for who invited you. See you there!

Easy Residual Income Business - Build It Once And Build It Big by Melanie Kissell
To build a true, easy residual income business, you'll need to build it once and build it big. Then have your check coming in month after month after month. People get some screwy ideas about products when they decide to do an MLM business. I guess the one you hear most often is, "I can't sell any product unless I love it!" First thing you really need in order to sell a product unless there is a market who want it. And for a professional, that is always their number one consideration. If you're going to be successful long-term in MLM, you need to provide one or more products that people really want, and which are consumable, so they get ordered over and over and over. It's incredible to me that some businesses which call themselves network marketing, actually sell products which offer no month after month recurring income. What they really have is a one-time sale. The biggest reason to do network marketing is that as you build, your income is cumulative each month. That's what they call residual income. Most people do not really understand the difference until they actually build residual income and then they take off for 2 months to go to the Galapagos Islands or something and when they come back, they have 2 checks waiting for them, and the 2nd check is bigger than the first. THEN they really get an idea of recurring income, and it's pretty exciting and pretty life-changing. The people who will build your business and network marketing income are the people with big dreams. If you can show them a step-by-step plan to achieve what they want in life, and if they believe that it's something they can do and that you can help them, you will get a steady stream of people in your business. About the only thing that can sabotage your business at that point is ... greed and ego. It's crucial long-term that you build a good relationship with your people, and vice versa. That relationship can be easily destroyed by displays of greed or ego or both. The income is certainly important to everybody. You can create terrific income in MLM when you get a lot of people each doing a little bit of work daily and consistently. Everybody in this business wants to increase their income, and they want recognition. You will be much closer to reaching your own income goals and income stability by focusing on helping the others in your group achieve their own dreams. Be on the lookout for greed and ego so you can stop them before they ever start to develop. A lot of people frustrated with a lack of MLM success have found these ideas very useful. One very popular solution to MLM frustration is the ebook "Success In 10 Steps" by Michael Dlouhy. The author covers some of the biggest problems people have in trying to start their own successful business, and how to solve those problems. Back in the early 1990s, Dlouhy joined over 100 MLMs and studied & cataloged all their rep packs and recruiting tactics and compensation plans and training, along with his own results. He talked to a lot of different people from a lot of different companies. In "Success In 10 Steps", you'll learn all the common MLM knowledge that is completely unworkable. Plus, you find out exactly what does work. You'll find it very useful in building an easy residual income business. Awesome Network Marketing Convention Part 3
Our business team had a drawing at the convention for a brand new 2008 Ford Mustang!
There were other prises in the drawing as well, like a laptop computer, a cabin for two on the team 's cruise coming up in February, products, and a coaching ticket (training with a leader on the team). We all supported the drawing by purchasing coaching tickets and visualizing ourselves (or the person we felt deserved the car) winning and driving the mustang home.
There was one particular person who had a visualization story so detailed and real sounding that I knew she was going to win the car. (At least I thought she would win the car.) She had her story filled with little details, like what she would be wearing, who would be standing next to her when her name was called, what the weather would be like, etc. (By the way, I was standing next to her when her name was called and I got a video clip on my cell phone of her running and jumping into the arms of our team leader.)
It is an awesome feeling when you see someone get the good that they deserve, and to know that you helped, even in a small way, to make it happen. You see, she is part of a group of mentors that help other people learn the skills they need to be successful in any network marketing business. She does this for F*R*E*E. She is helping me to become a leader. We can help you become a leader, too. Your first step to owning your own life is to download this f*r*e*e e-book,
http://ddengler2.bigmlmsecrets.com/?mad=15872
My friend, that won the mustang, took her time driving around the country on her way home, visiting other people that helped her win the car. Now she is home, but she was building her business the whole trip back. That is definitely one trait of a leader, to persevere!
Yes, I learned a lot at the business convention. I also met people in just a couple of days that have become my friends for life.
Before the convention started, when I got on the motel shuttle from the airport, I met a couple that I got to know well at the convention. They made me feel important to them by saving me a seat at the table beside them. They would watch for me when I came into the meeting room and let me know that they had a seat saved for me. We are close in age, both have grandchildren, and we both want to help others. I felt like I'd known them all my life. Many lifelong friendships were made during those few days.
Another young couple that I met have kept in contact with me since the convention and are encouraging me and helping me to be successful by answering my questions, and giving me suggestions. As busy as they are, they have time for each one that has questions or needs help.
There were people from Sweden, Norway, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, USA, and more countries from around the world. I met people who had been in network marketing for years and some that just joined recently. The people who were making loads of money were no different than you and me. One very successful man said, "I put my pants on the same way everyone else does, one leg at a time." They were all very willing to share their knowledge with all of us. All of them started in the network business at the same beginning level like we did.
They are people who want to help others like I do. We are a team of mentors. We are a BIG family of mentors with a servant's heart who want to give back to others from what we have been given. We are not any luckier than you. You can have success too! the first step is to download the f*ree e-book, then take action and we will help you all the way. Please contact me with any questions. My contact information is attached to the e-book.

Awesome Network Marketing Convention, Part 2
These questions were going through my head as our team headed a dinner together on the second night of my first convention. I was trying to remember names and faces, as well as where they were from. There were people from all over the USA and Canada, as well as Norway, United Kingdom, and Sweden, to name a few. All four types of personalities were evident, too.
Our group this evening was a smaller group of about 17 people who belonged to a team of 'leaders in-the-making'. One man in the group had made reservations for us at a Mexican restaurant and lead the way, walking about four or five blocks from the motel.
While we were waiting for our food, a crisp $100 bill was awarded to a young couple who had accomplished a requirement for that award, and we presented out team leader with a plaque of recognition for her leadership. Many pictures were taken and we all talked about business and life in general.
That evening I found out what happened to my roommate. She had been on her way to the airport to come to convention, when she blacked out with a stroke (TIA). Her husband took her
to the hospital for treatment, instead. I can't imagine how disappointed she was. We had all been looking forward to this event for a year. (She has a 'yellow' personality. She cares very much for other people. She was a nurse.) She had left a message on a team member's cell phone, but since she had just started using the phone, she hadn't figured out how to get messages from the phone, yet.
O.K. Now what was I to do? I admit I was thinking only of myself when I thought about the credit card bill with 4 nights of an expensive motel on it. (Even with the special rate it was expensive for me, a 'common Jane') When I had expected to share the bill with one or maybe more people, I was not sure what to do, now. I guess my 'yellow' personality was worrying about the cost of convention and not letting me enjoy and learn.
We have heard from the top to "Ask for Help". So I asked a couple of my team members if they had any ideas of what I could do. They said not to worry about it, it would be alright. They would mention it to our team leader. I imagined someone paying for my motel stay and how that would show how caring and selfless this group of people are. I could tell all about what a awesome team I have and the world would be a wonderful place... O.K. I got a bit carried away there! They are an awesome team, but that is not what happened.
The next morning, after pleading on my knees, I had the thought of asking someone that was staying alone in a room, if they wanted to room with me. Since I was on the same floor as the Presidential Suite, where we got together every night for pizza and brainstorming until the wee hours of the morning, that would save us both money and her the time of going back to a room on a different floor of the motel.
I had two people in mind to ask to room with me. When I got off the elevator, a few minutes later, I saw one of the people I had thought of. Upon telling her my situation, and asking her if she would be willing to share a room with me, she asked if I had talked to the front desk about it. I had not, yet, as I was waiting until I found someone willing to make the change. She said she snored, I said I have earplugs, besides, sometimes I talk in my sleep. She might have a friend coming in to stay too, not a problem. 'The more the merrier.'
Well, this lady is a leader, because she took the bull by the horns and made the arrangements before lunch. (She was also a 'blue' personality, very outgoing and loves to have fun.) The front desk said that she just needed to be out of her room by 2:00p.m. I went across the street to get us some lunch from the mall's food court, and she went to pack up her stuff to move.
I brought the food back and waited for her in the room. After awhile, I was beginning to think she forgot what the room number was (also a 'blue' personality trait). Sure enough, when she did arrive at the room, she told me that she had to ask our team leader what room number I was staying in. (Our team leader has a 'green' personality. She remembered details, even though I only told her once.)
We shared the room for the last two days of convention, and even shared the same name (first name only). We got to know a bit about each other and sharing the room helped us both.
It is interesting to figure out what personality each person is and it helps you to understand them and how they think. I have mentioned three of the four 'colors' of personality. The last color is 'red'. (They need to be in control.) To learn more about the four personalities, go to:
http://ddengler2.powerfulnetworkingsecrets.com
Well, that was how my immediate problem got solved, but convention wasn't over, yet.
The best is yet to come...
I want to tell you about a person who visualized and won a brand new 2008 Ford Mustang!
I will also tell you about the people who became dear friends (friends for life) in just a few days.

Awesome Network Marketing Convention, Part 1
I bought my reservation with an early discount. So that I wouldn't back out from going to the convention, I bought my plane ticket early, too. I asked within my team for a motel roommate and booked a room with two beds before I could change my mind.
Months passed and my business was slow to take off. I was working on personal growth and learning all I could from the leaders on my team. In the business that I am in, you can ask for help from anyone else in the business. Your up-line, side-line, even the president of the company will encourage you to believe in yourself. People who have the freedom to own their own lives are within this business.
When the time came for the convention, I was a little nervous, wondering how I would be accepted without a big down-line, only a few clients.
I needn't have worried. I got off the airplane onto the motel shuttle to find that it was full of people going to the same convention that I was going to. We shared names, where we were from, and how long we had been in this business. Instead of feeling all alone, I was part of this group.
When we got to the motel, I started looking for my roommate. She was not checked in yet, so I called one of my team. No one had seen her or heard from her yet, so I got settled in the room before going to the team leaders room.
As I walked up to the door of the presidential suite I noticed that it was propped open slightly so that anyone could go in. I heard laughter and talking inside, but was unsure if I should enter. As I was standing outside the door, actually starting to walk away, someone opened the door and came out. It was someone that I knew by phone but had never met personally before. She called me by name and ran to give me a big hug. Then, she opened up the door to introduce me to the team leader. I was instantly welcomed and accepted into the group. I felt like I belonged.
I went down to the lobby to watch for my roommate, and several people came up to me and started talking. Everyone was introducing themselves, putting faces to names that they had heard by phone on the free training calls, giving hugs and exclaiming how glad they were to see everyone. More people kept coming and the family kept growing. Soon the lobby was very busy with people from all over the world.
A special dinner was provided the first evening for those at a certain level in the business. People were dressing up in formal wear and getting ready ride to that event in hummer limousines. Since there were some of us who were not at that level, we banded together and planned to eat together at a nearby restaurant. After we took pictures of our friends getting into the limos and riding off, we walked to a Japanese restaurant down the street.
We went around the group getting to know names and personalities and taking pictures while waiting for our food. We had a great time, but all agreed that we were going to be in the limos next year.
My roommate still had not checked in when we got back to the motel. I thought maybe I had mistaken the date of her arrival. No, I was informed that she had been planning to attend the limousine dinner. Still, no one was able to reach her by phone. Something was not right.
The next morning more people arrived, but my roommate was not one of them. I went to the table to get my ID badge and schedule. I found out that I had a ribbon of recognition on my name tag. That made me feel good about myself. Even though I was not as far as others, I still was very important in this business.
As the events started to accumulate and the training commenced, I began to realize that this business is more than everything that was promised.

What Does a Proven "System" look like?
Email me to request this audio where Michael Dlouhy speaks with Sarah Thompson and Judi Sheean about a duplicatable system or "recipe".
Let's say you wanted to make my Mom's special squash dinner buns. You would ask for the same recipe that she uses so that you too can make the exact same tasty buns that she makes right?
And if your neighbor tasted the buns that you made following my Mom's recipe, and they liked it and wanted to make some for themselves. Wouldn't you think that if they followed the same recipe that their buns would taste exactly the same?
Listen to Sarah Thompson's pizza recipe and Judi's cake recipe and see why they are having success teaching their downlines how to cook. (metaphorically speaking of course)

MLM Team-Building
You get a great sense of satisfaction by giving with no strings attached. You can give material things, or your time, or your expertise. Doing so puts you in the right frame of mind to talk to other people about your MLM opportunity. You know you are acting in their best interest, and that is a real key.
I have driven to New York twice, to help team members when they were ready to move - one to Florida, the other to Kentucky. My son Matthew went with me and helped. I think you, as the leader of your group, need to be Example #1 of bonding and relationship-building. For your people to work well together and to really perform and prosper as a team, they need that example. When they see you walking the talk, how can they do any less?
Not too long ago, I drove 500 miles round-trip to cut down a tree for one of my team. The tree was dead, it was threatening their home, and I’ve cut down a lot of trees in my life. Linda and Matthew came with me. We made a day of it, cutting down the big old hickory tree and cutting it into pieces and hauling it all to their burn pile. We all felt great on that 250 mile ride back home. Do you think an act of kindness like that will create a long-lasting effect? I believe it does. A single act like that can set in motion a series of acts of kindness. Isn’t that a great legacy to give your team?
Then do so eagerly, with no expectation of return.
But trust me, you will get the return. Immediately, your life is filled with strong positive feelings and content. Who knows what future cycles of kindness you may have started? And last, but certainly not least - you have strengthened your network marketing relationships.
That’s definitely not a bad thing.
Your friends for life,
Michael & Linda Dlouhyhttp://ddengler2.bigmlmsecrets.com/?mad=15872

MLM Relationships - Look Beyond Behavior
People don’t always do the right thing. And 98% of these “wrong things” fall in the category of “small stuff.” So when somebody screws up, take a moment to put it in perspective. A year from now, will you even remember it? Bottom line: don’t invest your time and your emotion in something that is trivial.
The logical extension of this thought is, whenever someone does some act that you don’t approve, train yourself to think of them with kindness. If you consider the situation to be truly serious, then advise them how you would handle it. And then let it go.
Nothing is - or needs to be - perfect. “Letting it go” is your best choice because you ultimately have no control over what any of your network marketing partners does. And, believe it or not, there’s always a fair chance you’ll learn something new and useful from how someone else handles a situation.
So observe, and try to understand why. And then either learn or let it go or both. Your MLM relationships always involve other people. You can count on regular annoyances. Long-term, they are meaningless … so don’t let it have any effect on your own productivity.

MLM Relationships - See the Innocence
By Michael Dlouhy
One thing network marketers do is … we wonder why other people do the things they do. Some of that stuff really seems irrational, doesn’t it? Selfish, mean, nuts? It’s frustrating just to think about someone doing those crazy things. Why can’t they be normal? Like … like … like US for instance!
And do you know what the height of this lunacy is? They … look at us … and think exactly the same thing!
Since they are so set in their crazy ways, maybe the smartest thing for us to do is to be a bit less bothered by their nuttiness.
One way to do this is to look beyond their behavior and into their soul. The vast majority of associates and prospects and family members aren’t being devious. They are just doing what they believe in. If you can look at the other person and see the innocence behind their behavior, then you can have compassion for them.
One area where others seem to often “go too far” is in their idea of how quickly we should be doing some pretty weird (probably unproductive) action, to help them in their MLM business. To them, it’s urgent. You, on the other hand, have 27 things on your list more urgent and more likely to produce good results. So just think of the frustration you feel when a project is urgent to you and you have to depend on someone else for the next step. That may make it easier to “feel their pain” and not be so bothered by their behavior.
We appreciate you!
