I Will BELIEVE Without Fear or Doubt!

I will BELIEVE without fear or doubt!

When I was a child, I took swimming lessons at a local river with other children my age..
Every year there was a two week course given by a local lifeguard.
My mother is deathly afraid of water, but she did not want her children to have the same fear.

I was not afraid of getting wet or being cold, but I did not trust the water to hold me up.
I was a sinker, not a swimmer.

One time as a very young child, my grandfather sneezed very loudly and scared me so that I fell into the water from off the dock.
My mother waited for me to come up and float, but I sank to the bottom and stayed there.
When she jumped in the water and pulled me out, I was as stiff as a board. (She told me later.)

At swimming lessons, I fought the water and was very fearful all of the first week.

During the second week, I was still very fearful. It was almost the last day when I finally DECIDED to trust the water.

Guess What!

I sunk a little, but then I floated! I actually started to enjoy the water.

I was sorry that I had not trusted the water sooner, since it was kind of fun floating on the water!

I WILL believe without fear or doubt!

I will be PERSISTENT!

Imagine That!

"Ideas are products of the IMAGINATION." Napoleon Hill

When my husband, Dennis, and I first joined the company that we now call 'HOME', we found out that we could retail the products anywhere you found a buyer. There were no limitations to our imagination. This set our minds to thinking... a store? Maybe go in with someone else?

Dennis suggested the Flea Market or Jockey Lot as it is sometimes called. A place where anyone can rent a space to sell just about anything, and people from the surrounding area come on weekends to buy and sell. Sarah said that sounded like a good idea because there should be lots of entrepreneurs there. I thought it was a good idea, too, so I juggled it around in my mind for months.

Things I would need:
1. Price lists
2. Printed product brochures
3. Product samples
4. Prospect contact information sheets
5. Props for display

The list could go on... but the IDEA was still in my head.

I wanted to promote the business, but feared the questions that I might not be able to answer.
I did not have a DEFINITE PLAN - nothing was written down!

On Friday, March 20th, I mentioned to Dennis that we NEEDED to stop by the Jockey Lot on Saturday, to see what arrangements could be made to rent a space and promote the business.

Saturday, we went, checked out a couple spots and got a map of the grounds with a phone number to call to reserve a spot. For some reason, we did not reserve a spot for the next Saturday. We could call Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, but it just didn't feel like the right time.

Well, does March 28th, ring a bell for anyone?

Our amazing company came up with an EXCELLENT IDEA! A RETAIL WEBSITE!

NOW I HAD ALL THAT I NEEDED. Not a lot of papers, but A WEBSITE that I could POINT PEOPLE TO so that they could get ALL THE INFORMATION and BUY THE PRODUCTS!

So, Saturday, April 4th, I took a box full of empty containers (we had used all those products ourselves), 25 company magazines, five paperback books "Success in 10 Steps", a simple black plastic tablecloth, two small boxes and white pieces of cloth (to cover the small boxes and set up a display of containers), a simple contact information sheet for people to fill out, and business cards that I wrote the Retail Website on the back of. (We even wore our Team t-shirts!)

I had a great time and all I did was greet people. If they stopped to talk or had questions, I gave them the website and told them that all the information was there for them. I got 8 good leads this week. I'll let you know about next Saturday...

Have a Great week!
