Is This The Right Opportunity For Me?

I remember when I joined my first MLM. It was in the early year of 2006. I was looking for a new source of income for my wife and our new baby boy. I desperately needed the money and I had very little time to work another job. You see I was in the active duty Air Force for six years making very little money. With a new child and a stay at home wife I was hurting for some extra cash. Depression was kicking my butt.I went from doing surveys online, to eBay (where I was scammed out of $1200) and pretty much anything else I could get my hands on (not drugs). I even submitted an invention of mine that I came up with over the years which still ended up costing me more money. That's still in the works.

As I was doing surveys I noticed an ad on one of the survey websites telling me that I could make a lot of money while putting in very little effort. Well needless to say this was right up my alley. Without hesitation I got the money together buy pawning some unused things of mine and scrounging for whatever change that I could find. I contacted the person on the ad and told them that I have the money and I am ready to join. Was I? I was so excited about making easy money that I jumped right into a company that I had no idea about and had not done any research on. I thought that I was going to be rich! Little did I know right?

When I started talking to my sponsor about the company and making money I was constantly being told to buy the products and watch the training videos, buy the products and watch the training videos. Any of this sounds familiar? So I buy the products and I watch the videos and I buy the products... You get the point. Anyway, after doing this for about a month I started to receive something that I did not expect to receive in the beginning; a BIG FAT HEADACHE! I did not make a dime off of this company. There was no duplicatable method to be used, there was no real communication between my sponsor and I, and most importantly of all there was no MONEY! I wanted to scream, there I was trying to do something honest for me and my family and not a dime. All I had was some nasty powder, some beans, lotions and crap and a big empty account. It was the worst feeling that I had ever had. I thought to myself "YOU IDIOT", you just spent all of your money on a company that does not even show you a proper way of selling your product and now you have to go tell your loving wife that this selling thing is not working. I thank God to this day that she did not leave me. Needless to say after my year end subscription I did not even think about renewing my account.

I did not try another MLM for about 2 1/2 years later. Now I am back in the MLM business getting customers and I have not even been in the company for a month. How does this happen? I did my research on the company first of all. I analyzed everything, from the comp plan, to who founded the company and who endorses it. Most importantly of all, I found a mentor. If you do not find a mentor then you can forget it. Just go give your money to the homeless or something; at least they can use it more than some of these "opportunity" companies. Also do your research. Don't do what I did years back and dive right in head first. I guarantee that you will get frustrated in your first few months if not the first and that you will, WILL go broke.

When I use to do carpentry work with my dad he would always tell me "measure twice and cut once". This saying easily applies to joining an MLM or any company. Research as much as you can on the company and be sure that the company is a good one then join. Many of these companies are set up to give us false hope and nothing more while there are legit companies out there that actually do what they say they will do. This is why researching the company before you join is so important. Here is some advice, be weary of companies that promote "make hundreds of thousands in one month" or "get 50,000 prospects in one month". If they say anything like this then ask that person to prove it. If they cannot then there you go. Other than that I have nothing more to say. I hope this little story and bit of information helps you in your next or current venture. I wish you the best of luck.

Your friend,
Alfonzo Gasaway II

How to Find a Legitimate MLM Opportunity

By curtisbennett1977

5 Pillars for success! A lot of people now days are working from Home, but many more are just jumping from one program to another. What is the reason that some people really make money online and why others don’t?

Every time you search in Google “How to make money online”, How to work from home”, “Home based business opportunity”, “MLM business”, you get millions of websites showing you the best opportunity they have, but the reality is that we are only getting too much hype and lies from the majority of these opportunities.

I don’t blame these people because I was one of them…

For the past 8 years I’ve joined many opportunities for the same reason of all of you, and that is to “make money online” and to have”financial freedom”

I did everything my sponsors told me to do: I made a list of my friends and families, I create flyers, I spend a lot of money in PPC advertising, I bought thousands of business cards, I went to parking lots to put my cards in the windshield of the cars, I did business parties in my house, I went to business meetings, i bought magnetic signs for my car, and the list goes on and on….

Now I know that my lack of success was not my fault…instead, it was lack of education. No body showed me how to analyze a company before spend my time and money on them.

Finally I found an ebook called “Success in 10 Steps” by Michael Dlouhy, and this ebook showed me the real truth about network marketing business. In this ebook Michael talks about the 5 pillars for success and I want to share it with you.

Before you spend your valuable time and hard earned money I want you to follow this simple step to success, and that is to find a Company that has these 5 pillars:

1. Company management experience with integrity. Now you will say how do I know when a company has experience with integrity?….well all you have to do is go to Google and do a research in the company’s name and the owner & president’s name. In this first pillar you also need to request the policies & procedures of the company. You will be surprise to know that the majority of these companies states in their policies: “At its sole discretion, XXX Company may terminate a distributor for any reason upon 30 days prior written notice”.That’s how you know if they have integrity. Do you think is fair to have policies like this?

2. Timing in the Industry. A lot of companies brag about their Huge ground floor opportunity, but the reality is that the majority of these so called opportunities don’t last 2 years, so focus only in companies that already past the 2-3 years mark, as a matter of fact a good opportunity will be more strong after 2 years any way.

3. Remarkable Product that people buy and consume in a regular basis. I can say that this pillar is easy to find because a lot of companies have good products. Be advice that when we talk about product we are talking about real, tangible, consumable products, not downloadable intangible products.

4. Compensation Plan that pays the part time members. This is one of the most important parts in the 5 pillars. You have to have a pay plan that pays the average guy and not only the heavy hitters. The way to figure this out is easy, just decide how much money do you want to earn in your new business, let’s say $10,000 per month in residual income….now ask the person who’s presenting you the opportunity that tells you how many people in your team do you need to earn this income? If they don’t know that’s proof that you know more than they do, they always going to say only 2, or 5 but they don’t tell you that those 2-5 are going to do the same, so at the end of the process you find out that you really need over 1000, 2500 or even 10,000 members to earn your desired income. I can tell you the best compensation plan is that one that pays the most money with the least people, so find a company that only requires 300-400 members in your Team to earn that money.

5. Duplicable system in place. The last pillar for success is that you need to have a duplicable system that the average member can do it….remember people are not duplicable, systems are!

A True Mentor With a Servant's Heart

Throughout history the passing on of wisdom and practical
knowledge has been done by mentoring from parents, grand
parents, teachers, leaders, coaches, coworkers and friends.

The word goes back to Homer's Odyssey a
story which tells how before leaving on his long journey,
Odysseus asked a close friend to watch over and guide
his son. That friend's name was Mentor.

Some observations from the book by Marc Freedman,
"The kindness of strangers":

The 7 habits of highly effective mentors

1. Listening:

It is the only way mentors can understand what people
are up against and where opportunities for developing
the relationship can be discovered.

2. Building a relationship:

In the hurry to make a difference, mentors can forget to
take time to build a relationship and establish a firm
connection. this means carefully cultivating trust..It
means being patient. Many people will test mentors
to see if they are for real.

3. Respecting boundaries:

When mentors ask people personal questions before
a solid relationship has been established, the most
common response is silence. People will clam up.
Mentors who do not respect their mentees' needs
for privacy are often quick to alienate them.

4. Being sensitive to differences:

It is necessary to realize that mentors and those
they work with come from different worlds, a reality
even for mentors who have grown up disadvantaged.
This means being aware of the embarrassment a
person might feel about being poor.

5. Providing support and challenges:

Successful mentors are consistently there for people,
delivering a sustained message 'You are important"
when problems arise, effective mentors resist telling
people what to do and instead work with them to
address the problems. These mentors are eventually
able to strike a balance between supporting and
challenging both nurturing people and pushing them
toward their goals.

6. Acknowledging reciprocity:

While mentors often have to provide the initiative
early in the relationship as trust is being established,
mentoring is a two-way street. Growth, benefits and
struggles are present on both sides, and mentors
who are able to convey they are there for mutual
exchange, not just solve problems stand the greatest
chance of making a solid connection.

7. Being realistic:

Few mentors turn lives around, but mentors who help
people move toward achievable goals can make a real
contribution. Often this means having thick skin,
tolerating unreturned phone calls, accepting the
cultural gaps that must be bridged. In the end, few
virtues in mentoring rival on growing commitment and
genuine caring.

From the Road with Bob & Anna Bassett

The Toronto Freedom Tour was a huge success!

We had a 60% 'show up rate', with 67 guests attending, some of them driving as long as three hours and carpooling to get there! With distributors and spouses and kids, the total in the room was 84.

Sixty guests stayed for the second half - a 90% retention rate! Well done, Michael and Tom!

Almost half came early for lunch, and several stayed for dinner too. The opportunity for guests and distributors to be able to sit at lunch or dinner and just talk with Michael and Tom was priceless!

Michael Dlouhy speaking in Toronto

Thanks to Michael and Tom and all the Ontario organizers - Judi Sheehan, Gary and Kim Cassidy, Yvonne Jones, Anne Jones, Terry Smith, Robin Willson, Bob and Anna Bassett.

Michael and Tom were brilliant as usual. Michael got lots of laughs playing mindreader with the colors, and then a few frowns and jawdrops when he read excerpts from various companies' Policies and Procedures.

You could see people crossing their fingers hoping they had not signed anything as bad as that!

Everyone really appreciated the insights into the Five Pillars from Michael - important stuff we never thought of before. We have a friend who has been in every opportunity going for the past thirty years. She told us she wishes she had heard these warnings years ago!

Tom "Big Al" Schreiter speaking in Toronto

After the break, Tom demonstrated how to "unscrew the the tops of their heads and go directly to the subconscious." He must have done a good job of it, as most people are planning to return to see him again here on November 27.

Many guests have been calling and emailing us this week, wanting to know how to get more training like this and more information about our company!

This is a great business and Toronto is a wonderful place to be working it! Our guests originally came from Argentina, Israel, Uruguay, Russia, China, Trinidad, Iran, Jamaica, Poland, England, Scotland, France, Holland, United States, Ireland, Germany, Phillipines, Japan, India, Pakistan, Italy, Hungary, Portugal, etc., etc. United Nations at the Holiday Inn!

Anna Bassett with Michael Dlouhy

Just imagine having someone join you and take it back to a homeland where we are open. Toronto is the gateway to the world, and network marketing is the key to harmony, freedom and peace.

Thanks a million, Michael and Tom! And thanks to all the hardworking Ontario reps who helped put this together and run smoothly. This tour has brought out the best in everyone!

WHAT THE FREEDOM TOUR MEANS TO ME

Personality Colors & 5 Pillars Training is what Michael Dlouhy is bringing to each and every city on the Freedom Tour 0809 schedule. He is asking a very important question to start out the interactive evening:

"What are your two biggest struggles in your business?"

He writes down the answers and gives solutions to every problem throughout the evening.

The four personality colors are:

1. Yellow (phlegmatic) open & indirect - 35% of the population

2. Blue (sanguine) open & direct - 15% of the population

3. Green (melancholy) self-contained & indirect - 35% of the population

4. Red (caloric) self-contained & direct - 15% of the population

Michael proceeds to further explain the colors by telling several of the attendees what color personality they are & telling them some of their likes & dislikes. He is amazingly accurate!

Do you know what color you are?

Michael also covers the importance of finding a business with all 5 pillars. When a company has four pillars and is missing even one pillar, it cannot be truly successful.

Let me put it this way: Could you drive your car with one engine and only three tires? You would not get to your destination in a very timely manner, would you?

Would an apple pie be as tasty without apples, a crust, a pie plate, sugar & spices, and lard to keep it from sticking? All five items are necessary to make a truly amazing apple pie.

The five pillars that make a company successful are:

1. Management with Experience & Integrity

2. Timing in the Company & in the Industry

3. Remarkable Products that people will buy

4. Compensation Plan that pays the Distributor

5. Proven Duplicable System to create Royalty Income

Does your company have all 5 pillars?

After a short break, Michael will show you a 5 pillars company.

He will answer all your questions.

Easy Residual Income Business - Build It Once And Build It Big by Melanie Kissell

To build a true, easy residual income business, you'll
need to build it once and build it big. Then have your check
coming in month after month after month.

People get some screwy ideas about products when
they decide to do an MLM business. I guess the one you hear
most often is, "I can't sell any product unless I love it!"
First thing you really need in order to sell a product unless
there is a market who want it. And for a professional, that is
always their number one consideration. If you're going to be
successful long-term in MLM, you need to provide one or more
products that people really want, and which are consumable,
so they get ordered over and over and over.

It's incredible to me that some businesses which call
themselves network marketing, actually sell products which
offer no month after month recurring income. What they really
have is a one-time sale. The biggest reason to do network
marketing is that as you build, your income is cumulative each
month. That's what they call residual income.

Most people do not really understand the difference until
they actually build residual income and then they take off for 2
months to go to the Galapagos Islands or something and when
they come back, they have 2 checks waiting for them, and the
2nd check is bigger than the first. THEN they really get an idea
of recurring income, and it's pretty exciting and pretty
life-changing.

The people who will build your business and network
marketing income are the people with big dreams. If you can
show them a step-by-step plan to achieve what they want in
life, and if they believe that it's something they can do and
that you can help them, you will get a steady stream of people
in your business.

About the only thing that can sabotage your business at
that point is ... greed and ego. It's crucial long-term that you
build a good relationship with your people, and vice versa. That
relationship can be easily destroyed by displays of greed or ego
or both.

The income is certainly important to everybody. You can
create terrific income in MLM when you get a lot of people each
doing a little bit of work daily and consistently. Everybody in this
business wants to increase their income, and they want
recognition.

You will be much closer to reaching your own income goals
and income stability by focusing on helping the others in your
group achieve their own dreams. Be on the lookout for greed
and ego so you can stop them before they ever start to develop.

A lot of people frustrated with a lack of MLM success have
found these ideas very useful. One very popular solution to MLM
frustration is the ebook "Success In 10 Steps" by Michael
Dlouhy. The author covers some of the biggest problems people
have in trying to start their own successful business, and how
to solve those problems. Back in the early 1990s, Dlouhy joined
over 100 MLMs and studied & cataloged all their rep packs and
recruiting tactics and compensation plans and training, along
with his own results. He talked to a lot of different people
from a lot of different companies.

In "Success In 10 Steps", you'll learn all the common
MLM knowledge that is completely unworkable. Plus, you
find out exactly what does work. You'll find it very useful in
building an easy residual income business.
